The people of ʿĀd lived after Prophet Nūḥ (ʿalayhi as-salām) and were sent Prophet Hūd (ʿalayhi as-salām); Allah blessed them with great strength, stature, and prosperity, yet they became arrogant and worshiped idols, claiming no one was stronger than them (Al-Aʿrāf 7:65–69; Fuṣṣilat 41:15).
