🥾 Bucket List Illinois Hike! 🥾 Just over the river from St. Louis is one of the area's best hiking trails. Salt Lick Point & Water Preserve is located both above and below dramatic bluffs of a former mine. 🥾 There are three trails totaling 5 miles. We prefer making a loop by taking the Salt Lick Trail up to connect to the Newman and Johnson Trail (at the bottom of the bluffs) for a beautiful 3 mile hike. 🥾 The trails offer dramatic views, forests, and a creek with seasonal small waterfalls.
