Medieval Blacksmithing: Rare, Handmade Medieval Forge Demonstrated by Ted Hinman

Have you ever wondered how blacksmiths extend and shape iron? Fullering is one technique used to accomplish this. Demonstrated by Heather McLarty and Mary Jane Verniere at Adams Forge fullering requires two blacksmiths. While one holds a tool called a fuller against a red-hot piece of metal, the other strikes the fuller with a hammer, creating an indentation.
