On Monday, Red Sox play-by-play broadcaster Will Flemming revealed that Devers had stood up Giants legend Will Clark, a former Gold Glove winning first baseman, on WEEI Afternoons. In his podcast, “Dueces Wild,” with former big league outfielder Eric Byrnes, Clark confirmed the news.
It’s still months away but the Red Sox will have decisions to make in free agency, including potentially addressing the first base position.
