The Buchanans, who ran a sprawling farm and store about 40 miles outside Raleigh, died on Monday. Four members of a family who ran a large farm in North Carolina that supplied markets and hosted local vendor festivals were killed on Monday afternoon when the small plane they were in crashed, officials said.

Travis Buchanan, 35, and Candace Buchanan, 35, were on board a plane with their two children, ages 9 and 10, when it crashed into a field in North Carolina on Monday, July 7

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are investigating.
