Outside of Hurricane Erin in the western Atlantic, the National Hurricane Center is monitoring two areas of disturbed weather in the Atlantic Ocean, but forecasters say neither appears likely to develop into a tropical cyclone that would immediately threaten any landmasses.
The National Hurricane Center is tracking four systems in the Atlantic, including Hurricane Erin and newly designated Invest 90L.
Fernand, the 6th named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season, formed on Saturday over the open Atlantic southeast of Bermuda, but hooked quickly east of Bermuda on Sunday on a path out to sea.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking Tropical Storm Fernand and Invest 99L in the Atlantic. Fernand is passing well to the east of Bermuda and will likely weaken late Monday before becoming post-tropical midweek.
Now at 100% chance of development overall, the NHC says a tropical depression is likely to form by the end of the day Saturday, and a tropical storm is likely by the end of the day Sunday. This system should pose no threat to the continental U.S., however tropical storm watches or warnings may be issued for Bermuda.
