Byron Buxton was hit by a pitch on the hand for the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday and was lifted from the game.

Center fielder Byron Buxton is in his 11th major-league season as a member of the Minnesota Twins. The 31-year-old star was selected second overall in the 2012 MLB Draft and made his debut in 2015 at age 21.

His second All-Star Game selection will go down as one of his greatest satisfactions in the sport, considering the path he's taken to get here and the fact that the festivities next week will be in his native Georgia.
