A report of an active shooter at the University of South Carolina’s campus library Sunday was part of a swatting hoax, a school spokesperson said.

University of South Carolina students were told to shelter in place Sunday after an unconfirmed report of an active shooter on the main campus.

Students on the University of South Carolina's Columbia campus experienced an active shooter scare on Sunday evening, but no threat was found and no shooting took place.
