Vanderbilt baseball saw three current players and four signees selected on the first day of the 2025 MLB Draft. Among current players, JD Thompson was the highest pick (No. 59), going to the Milwaukee Brewers in the second round. RJ Austin (Orioles, No. 93) and Cody Bowker ( Phillies, No. 100) both went in the third round.

With the No. 38 overall pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, the New York Mets selected two-way player Mitch Voit from Michigan baseball.

Mitch Voit is the Michigan baseball program’s highest MLB draft pick since 2000. The second baseman was selected in the first round at No. 38 overall by the New York Mets on Sunday night, becoming the first Wolverines player selected in the first round since David Parish 25 years ago.
