Rescue operations continue in the Mahisagar River, Vadodara, following a bridge collapse. With 20 confirmed deaths, one person remains missing. Overcoming challenging conditions, teams are working to retrieve bodies and debris.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also directed an inquiry by the Roads and Buildings Department, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the loss of lives “deeply saddening”.

The incident happened around 7.30am on Wednesday when a span of the Gambhira Bridge gave way at Padra on the Mahisagar River.
