Daniil Medvedev’s match was delayed more than six minutes between points Sunday night, after a photographer entered the court on match point and the 2021 U.S. Open champion became enraged by the chair umpire’s decision to award his opponent a first serve.

A photographer who interrupted play for nearly seven minutes by stepping on the court at Louis Armstrong Stadium in the middle of a US Open first-round match between Daniil Medvedev and Benjamin Bonzi had his credential revoked for the remainder of the tournament, the USTA announced in the early hours of Monday morning.

The US Open descended into chaos on Sunday when a photographer came onto the court as Daniil Medvedev faced match point, bringing the first-round match to a standstill and sparking a spectacular meltdown from the Russian.
