Series history: South Carolina is 11-7-2 against Virginia Tech, with a two-game winning streak. The last matchup in 1991 was a 28-21 win for the Gamecocks. South Carolina is the favorite to win at -300 odds and a -7.5 point spread, according to FanDuel. The over/under line is set at 50.5 points.

Steve Spurrier was South Carolina football coach from 2005-15, joining the Gamecocks after taking a season off following two years with the Washington Redskins and 12 seasons at Florida, winning a national championship in 1996.

Running back Rahsul Faison was ruled eligible to play for the 2025-26 season by the NCAA on Monday. Faison, a seventh-year transfer from Utah State, started practicing with the team in the spring after arriving in January and received an emergency waiver over the summer to continue preseason practices.
