No one injured in North Boulder house fire
Boulder Fire-Rescue crews put out a fire at a residence in north Boulder on Thursday afternoon. Crews remain in the 4500 block of 19th Street as they continue to look for hotspots to extinguish, according to a post to the fire department’s X page.
Thousands are without power in Colorado as areas of the state face high winds and red flag warnings. On Thursday, Dec. 18, the eastern part of Colorado could see winds of 50 to 65 mph throughout the day, and up to 85 mph in the Front Range Mountains and foothills later at night, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.
While Xcel is still finalizing the outage scope, maps by the utility suggest it could affect around 100,000 customers in Boulder County.
The National Weather Service maintained a high wind warning for much of the Front Range and plains, with forecast wind gusts up to 80 mph expected to continue until at least 11 a.m. At 7:30 a.m., Denver International Airport listed 49 flight delays, but just nine cancellations.
