During a nearly two-hour session at the White House, the president expounded on his interior design preferences and announced new tariffs on copper imports.

President Donald Trump ’s latest executive order delaying official tariff increases on dozens of countries until Aug. 1 has relieved some pressure on world markets, but he also ordered a 25% tax on goods imported from Japan and South Korea,

The U.S. is going to provide more weapons to Ukraine after having recently paused a shipment to the country, Trump said. He added that he's "not happy" with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Trump plans to issue an executive order to extend the pause on his steep, so-called reciprocal tariffs to Aug. 1, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Monday. The pause had been set to expire Wednesday.

Trump delayed the "reciprocal tariffs" in April, vowing to strike roughly 90 trade deals in 90 days. So far, the White House says it has reached trade agreements with only the United Kingdom and Vietnam, as well as a preliminary accord with China.

Trump imposes tariffs up to 40% on 14 countries, pressuring allies to shift production to the US and avoid ties with BRICS. Tensions mount globally.

The letters listed a range of tariffs. Goods entering the U.S. from Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, and Tunisia will be subject to a 25 percent levy. There will be a 30 percent levy on South African and Bosnian goods, while imports from Indonesia will be subject to a 32 percent rate.
