F or the second time in less than a week, Villanova University was the scene of an active shooter hoax report on Sunday, prompting police to clear buildings at the Pennsylvania campus before investigators determined the incident was not legitimate, officials said.

The active shooter alert that forced Villanova University students to shelter in place on Thursday was a result of a cruel hoax," according to President Rev. Peter Donohue.

Dylan Johnson, a student editor for Villanova Sports, posted a video on X at approximately 4:45 p.m. ET of a frantic scene that showed students and faculty near Austin Hall on Villanova's main campus after an alert was sent out for an active shooter.
