Hurricane Erin is forcing evacuations on North Carolina’s Outer Banks as it churns in the Atlantic where high winds and heavy rain are pelting the Turks and Caicos Islands and parts of the Bahamas.
Beginning at noon Saturday, residents, property owners, and workers will be able to access NC12 at the Basnight Bridge.
Due to Hurricane Erin, some Delaware beaches will remain closed to swimming and fishing because of dangerous high surf and rip currents.

Strong winds and waves battered parts of Massachusetts, and dangerous rip currents threatened beachgoers as Hurricane Erin made its way farther out to sea.
Winds caused by Hurricane Erin are expected to continue dying down as Saturday looks to be a sunny day throughout Massachusetts, according to the National Weather Service.
