Hawaii opened the 2025 season with a thrilling 23-20 win over Stanford on Saturday to cap off Week 0 action. Hawaii kicker Kansei Matsuzawa drilled a 38-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Rainbow Warriors their first win over a Power Four team since 2019.

Micah Alejado’s toughness and Kansei Matsuzawa’s clutch kick lifted the Rainbow Warriors past Stanford in dramatic fashion.

After getting the College Football season started in Week 0, Hawaii walked off Stanford after a back and forth game.

Stanford fell 23-20 to the Rainbow Warriors on a last-second field goal as quarterback Ben Gulbranson struggled in his Cardinal debut.
