The fate of short-term rentals on Tybee Island will be decided at a council meeting Thursday and the mayor of the city tells WTOC, it’s likely they’ll be banned.

In residential neighborhoods, Georgia’s Tybee Island voted to stop issuing short-term rental permits and prohibit their transfer upon sale in June.

A group of residents, business owners, realtors, and short-term vacation rental managers, known as the Tybee Alliance, are taking the City of Tybee Island to court.
