Counties and municipalities will be activating tornado sirens during the test, although participation is voluntary.

The drill will take the place of the weekly Wednesday noon outdoor warning siren test.

If nothing else, the early Monday morning storms that carried a tornado tease with them gave the county a good practice run for a potentially more threatening situation.
