I live in a one-bedroom NYC apartment with my three kids and my husband. I redesigned our apartment, and my kids now sleep in the bedroom and have a rock-climbing wall.

The first floor contains just one bedroom, one bathroom and a laundry room. The second floor feels surprisingly expansive, with a 20-foot hip-roof ceiling and water views on three sides.
