Minnesota weather: Warm and sunny Thursday, turning colder for the weekend
It’s a sunny and warm Thursday in Minnesota, with increasing southerly breezes and highs in the 70s and 80s. A cold front on Friday brings tumbling temperatures and a chance for storms.
Minnesota’s Weather Authority says the sunset on Thursday (at 7:59 p.m.) will be the last sunset in the Twin Cities before 8 p.m. for more than five months — until Sept. 27, 164 days from now. The Twin Cities currently has just over 13.
Isolated storms are possible on Sunday, but dry air could push the moisture too far east for an impact in Minnesota. However, NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center says that if a storm or two can develop, “the potential will remain for large hail, damaging wind, and perhaps a tornado.”
