London is making a stretch of the street, long central to the city’s identity and sense of style, car free. Londoners will soon be able to stroll down the center of Oxford Street without cars whizzing by them. A section of the street, the city’s main shopping artery, will be car-free starting on Oct. 26.

London’s bus routes get chopped and changed fairly regularly.
