The NCWWC — the championship-organizing coalition before women’s wrestling became an NCAA championship sport — moved the finals site from Cedar Rapids to Coralville after the 2024 championships.
The inaugural NCAA women’s wrestling championship will be held in Iowa and will combine all three divisions.
The NCAA is sponsoring women’s wrestling for the first time in the 2025-2026 academic year. Iowa has won the last two women’s wrestling national titles.
Coe College announced the addition of women's wrestling to its athletics program. Coe College Director of Athletics & Recreation Steve Cook said Coe will be "all in" on the new program.
