While Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, North Carolina, has generated tourism and economic impact, some worry that visitors aren’t exposed to Cherokee history when visiting.

Harrah's Cherokee Casino contributes more than $380 million directly to the local economy, according to a report by researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel is currently undergoing a $275 million expansion project expected to be completed by late 2024.

The ordinance allows any adult, including North Carolina residents and others, to buy products at the tribe’s cannabis superstore that opened April 20 near Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort.
