The film will now open Oct. 6, 2028, back from its previous date of Nov. 19, 2027. Chris Columbus, who wrote the 1984 original Gremlins, is directing and writing the script with Final Destination Bloodlines duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.

Semafor reports that Paramount execs “have discussed asking Elon Musk to become part of a syndicate of equity investors into Paramount,” citing anonymous sources. There’s no word on how much Musk might be asked to invest or even if it’s actually going to happen.
