F or the second time in less than a week, Villanova University was the scene of an active shooter hoax report on Sunday, prompting police to clear buildings at the Pennsylvania campus before investigators determined the incident was not legitimate, officials said.

A second false active shooter incident was reported at Villanova University before the first day of classes, sources say.

Authorities are investigating two reports of active shooters that were both deemed false at Villanova University over the last four days. The false reports prompted shelter-in-place orders as well as large police responses as the college outside Philadelphia began fall semester.
