South Carolina defensive line coach Travian Robertson was hospitalized Friday following a head-on collision in which the other driver died, according to The State. S.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway told the newspaper the accident occurred at 5:45 a.m. Friday on U.S. 76 in Richland County.

As a defensive tackle at South Carolina, Travian Robertson made over 120 tackles and earned a job in the NFL. And after several seasons in pro football he went into coaching. But now Robertson needs thoughts and prayers as he battles a serious injury.

The other driver involved in the car crash with South Carolina football assistant coach Travian Robertson died. Robertson remains hospitalized.
