Commuters in the Philadelphia region are bracing for a week of disruption as SEPTA service cuts are set to take effect Sunday.

After months of discussion, drastic service cuts -- that will see SEPTA routes eliminated, shortened and/or reduced -- went into effect on Sunday.

The cutbacks Sunday include most of the planned cuts to bus, subway, and trolley lines. The rest of those will go into effect Monday morning. The cuts will be felt during the Monday morning commute, which also happens to be the first day of school for the Philadelphia School District.
