Masataka Yoshida is set to make his 2025 Red Sox debut Wednesday night following a lengthy recovery from offseason shoulder surgery. Yoshida has been activated from the IL and will be Boston's DH when the team goes for a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies at Fenway Park.

To make room for Yoshida on the 40-man roster, Boston transferred right-handed reliever Nick Burdi from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL. Yoshida is returning from a right shoulder labral repair that he underwent last October. He will make his 2025 as the DH. He’s batting sixth in the lineup.
