Lions coach Dan Campbell said S Brian Branch (Achilles) "has a chance" to resume practicing sooner than S Kerby Joseph (knee), "but it won't be this week."

Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox named the Detroit Lions a potential suitor for Atlanta Falcons safety Jessie Bates.

General manager Brad Holmes on Wednesday, Sept. 2, said the Lions "still have confidence" both Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch will return to the field.

Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph become eligible to open 21-day practice windows after Week 2, though neither can play until Week 5.
