Survivors of a building collapse that killed 27 people in the Pakistani city of Karachi were trying on Monday to come to terms with the loss of loved ones and their homes.

KARACHI, Pakistan — The death toll from a collapsed multistory residential building in Pakistan’s Karachi city rose to 27 on Sunday as a three-day rescue operation ended, officials said.

Officials say a multistory building has collapsed in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi, killing at least six people and injuring several others
