Israeli airstrikes have hit Yemen’s capital, days after the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels fired what the Israeli military described as the first cluster bomb they've launched since 2023.

Israel has carried out air strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen's capital, Sanaa, in response to the group's missile attack on Friday which the Israel military said carried cluster munitions. The Israeli operation targeted a military complex housing the presidential palace, a fuel depot and power stations.

The Israeli strikes hit a facility owned by Yemen’s main oil company along with a power plant and a military site in an area where the presidential palace is located, according to the Houthis and Israel's military.
